What’s Going Ahhhn…

I took a few weeks to work on other projects that I didn’t work on, wanted some time to not think about music and found myself thinking about music, tried to cut down on going to shows and ended up going to a lot of shows, so that was all quite silly in retrospect. I’ve tried to collect the best of the best for this week and while there is nothing going on Thursday for some odd reason, every other night this week is packed with amazing live and local music. Check it out below…

When & Where: Tuesday, November 22, 9pm at Yucca Tap Room
Reasons To Attend: Man Hands if fantastic, so that’s a guarantee. Weird Radicals are playing their second show of all time and witnesses of their first appearance assure me this is one show not to miss. Lochness Mobsters have a brilliant name…if their music is only half as good as their name this will be a stunning evening from beginning to end.

Reasons To Attend: SURF plays like once a decade and I was shitfaced drunk last time I saw them. That said, I will not be missing this rare event, plus SURF’s new album is their best yet, yes better than the two released earlier this year, but they’re all good. It’s a great lineup to boot as well which makes The Rogue a one stop shop for all your Friday night needs.

When & Where: Saturday, November 26th, 8pm at Crescent Ballroom
Reasons To Attend: I had begun to doubt that No Volcano would put out their sophomore record this year until they handed it to me back in October. It’s every bit as brilliant as their debut and you should come celebrate that with them at Crescent Ballroom where they will be joined by Less Pain Forever and Scorpion vs. Tarantula for the most fun you’ve had since the Trunk Federation reunion party. This is going to be amazing.

No flogging a dead horse here, rock, pop and art will be very much alive when you join No Volcano and their special guests to give thanks for this audio/visual extravaganza!

When & Where: Saturday, November 26th, 8pm at Pho Cao
Reasons To Attend: This is a pretty sweet lineup in a chill venue where you can slowly shake off the food coma you got into on Thursday. Ben Anderson kicks things off and it explodes from there. Great music, great drinks, great food and a great venue.
Other Details: Come join the spectacular live performance of Jason Devore of Authority Zero, Ben Anderson and Eye of Fire at Pho Cao for FREE!

Pho Cao presents
Ben Anderson at 8pm
Eye of Fire at 9pm

When & Where: Saturday, November 26th at The Rebel Lounge
Reasons To Attend: A lot of people talk about DRYC, but you don’t get to see them all that often anymore. Here is one of those rare opportunities and if you haven’t seen them live, you really owe it to yourself to do so. Also, get there in time to catch Qais and The Qosmonauts who incidentally put out the best local sitar album of the year and possibly of any year.
Other Details: DRY RIVER YACHT CLUB at The Rebel Lounge
