I somehow thought a lot more was going on this week than is actually going on, but there’s plenty going on even with that in mind. The weekend will be filled with difficult decisions, you may be allowed to rest on Sunday, but then killer shows kick right up next Monday and Tuesday. I included those as well, because my life will be consumed by end of the year lists at that point and I may not get to post a preview for those shows because I’ll either be writing or at those shows or something occurred out of normal parameters…and well, you get the point–they’re great shows that demand mention. Enjoy.
When & Where: Wednesday, November 30th, 6pm at Pho Cao
Reasons To Attend: This is the first NoDAPL benefit I think I’ve seen, at least when it comes to local music. There a few more coming as well. This one happens to feature JAM Now and that’s your reason to attend, very early, then stick around fro the rest of the show. Donations are requested and encouraged.
Other Details: Protect the sacred at this #NoDAPL benefit concert this Wednesday evening at Pho Cao. The asking Heart donation is $18. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. You can give what you can and everything is going towards the cause. #WaterIsLife

When & Where: Wednesday, November 30th, 8pm at The Trunk Space
Reasons To Attend: It’s damn nice to have The Trunk Space back inside a new location. I have yet to visit the new locale, but this may get me there as both Diners and ROAR have each put out some of the finest records of the year. Let’s see them off on tour with Amateur Hour and San Jose’s The Albert Square. Indie pop dreams are made of this.
Other Details: Hey friends! Diners and Roar are headed to the west coast! Come send us off the crew by saying “sup” and listening to music? Yeah? Cool! Also accompanying the road bound folks are Amateur Hour and The Albert Square (from San Jose!)

When & Where: Friday, December 2nd, 7pm at Last Exit Live
Reasons To Attend: Here is the perfect Friday night lineup if there ever was one at the perfect venue, with the perfect host. Seriously, The Soft White Sixties are one of those touring bands that make it a point of visiting here as often as possible, which is great because they are a fantastically fun live band that actually rocks. Opening for them will be two of my absolute local favorites Fairy Bones and Wyves. I can’t see how this won’t be my destination on Friday.
Other Details: KWSS presents the return of The Soft White Sixties (SF/LA) in celebration of the release of their new EP The Ocean Way. Performing with them that night are two of our Rock Local favorites, Fairy Bones and Wyves. Hosted by Beef Vegan

Reasons To Attend: Here’s another show where I know very few of the bands, but let’s face it, with Harper and the Moths AND W.A.S.H. this is going to be a serious party or at least it should be. You may get a rare performance out of those two this Friday at Rebel.
Other Details: No further information at this time.
When & Where: Saturday, December 3rd, 6pm at The Rebel Lounge
Reasons To Attend: If you haven’t heard Doll Skin, Sol Drop or Sunlaand yet, you need to cancel any plans you had for Saturday and hit The Rebel Lounge for this stunning lineup.
