What’s Going Ahhhn…

This week is unreal, which is why I wanted to get it out as early as possible. The weekend is still a bitch decision wise, but not the trainwreck it was last Saturday. That said, with the strange exception of Wednesday…there are just good shows to see, there are fan-freaking-tastic shows to catch all of the other nights this week. I begin where I ended last week. Believe this many great shows is stressing me out too–I have to carefully schedule my writing regiment this week so I can go out and have some fun watching all the bands I’m writing about.

When & Where: Monday, December 12th, 7pm at The Rebel Lounge
Reasons To Attend: So this is just a super cool thing that The Rebel Lounge is doing on the Monday nights before Christmas. All the details below. This week I am all about Vintage Wednesday. Those kids are talent on fire right now. You can pay the cover or bring a toy instead, but definitely get there for their set.
Other Details: The Rebel Lounge is pleased to announce The Rebel’s Holiday Toy Drive benefiting the children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital!
Every Monday in December leading up to Christmas, The Rebel Lounge will host a series of concerts and toy drives to benefit the children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The shows will feature a variety of great local talent and serve as an opportunity for the local music community to give back to a truly special local organization that helps tens of thousands of families every year.
Each show will have an $8 admission fee that is waived with donation of an unwrapped toy. Just bring a toy with you to the show and get in for free! See below for the full lineup for each show. Doors open at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm for each night. All ages are welcome.

When & Where: Monday, December 12th, 7pm at The Trunk Space
Reasons To Attend: I am all about There Is Danger and Joe Vito, but they’ve got this great show with Nick Jaina and you should really check out his stuff on bandcamp. This show is a stunner for a Monday, that’s for sure.
Other DetailsNick Jaina is a musician and writer from Portland, Oregon. He is a co-founder and musical director of the Satellite Ballet and Collective in New York City. He has composed the music for three ballets and three contemporary dances with that group, featuring dancers from the New York City Ballet, Ten Hairy Legs, and Juilliard, performing at the Baryshnikov Center and the Joyce Theater. Their most recent performance was two sold-out shows at Brooklyn Academy of Music in May 2014. Of that show, the New York Times wrote, “[The] pure, pungent, earthy music for strings, piano, and percussion… was the most physically bracing part of the night.”

When & Where: Saturday, December 17th, 7pm at ThirdSpace
Reasons To Attend: I like Third Space, because there is like a coffee shop right there and I can get coffee and they don’t care. Most venues make me pour 20 oz. of scalding latte down my throat before entering the building, but then they don’t actually have coffee inside the venue, but that’s all I drink, but I had to drink mine or throw it out, it’s my decision I suppose. More venues should have courtyards with coffee shops. Oh, also this is a completely amazing lineup with art, and music and DJs. All the gooey details below.

Carol Pacey & the Honey Shakers fresh off their new CD release, ‘Eyes On The Prize’ is one of their grandest rock records to date! They will take us into the rest of our evening dancing and groovin’
This will be a hootin and hollerin’ good time brought to you by one of best venues in Tempe since 1970, Yucca Tap Room.
