This is extremely late, but I’ve had a lot on my plate, but as they say, the show must go on. Plus, there’s so much cool shit on the next four nights that something must be said. Also, I’ve had a hell of a February where nothing went as planned and I wanted to get one more of these out this month. No less than three records coming out this weekend and all the release shows are on Saturday. From here to Monday there’s a hell of a lot of good music to be had.
When & Where: Friday, February 24th, 8pm at The Rebel Lounge
Reasons To Attend: I was just telling my girlfriend that I was getting kind of cagey because I haven’t seen Harper and The Moths in a while. Not only does this event satiate that need it’s also for a great cause. It’s also a completely stacked lineup and your first of two chances to see Foresteater between this gig and Monday.

When & Where: Friday, February 24th, 8pm at The Trunk Space
Reasons To Attend: This is going to be super cool. Exploding Oranges could be just Joel Ekdahl, it could be a full band, find out. Cheap Hotels put out a stellar EP last year, and Blood Feud Family Singers just dropped a kickin’ video. It’s a pretty unique lineup.

All good vibes
When & Where: Friday, February 24, 7pm at Valley Bar
Reasons To Attend: I got to write a litte piece about Landlady for New Times and in order to do so, I had to listen to their new album and I totally flipped my lid. Seriously. Listen to it HERE. Also, if you click on each song, each one has a different animated image. Serious bandcamp pros. Blank Waves are opening up the night and those guys slay, especially with their new disco nuanced single. This will be amazing. Like, religious experience amazing.

When & Where: Friday, February 24, 8pm at Pho Cao
Reasons To Attend: This quirky little show looks pretty spectacular. I don’t know Southwest Midnight, but they proclaim themselves sun-drenched Arizona rock and that sounds all right by me. The stunning portion of the show I do know is everything else here. Pride Through Strife is amazing live, especially if they go electric. The Pleasure Victims are a fantastic live band and have a reputation all over town for bringing the fun. John Cornelio has the voice of an angel, so much so that I was stopped in my tracks on the street by it one day. I hope Southwest By Midnight can live up to all that.
Other Details: Southwest By Midnight Show at Pho Cao!
When & Where: Saturday, February 25th, 7pm at The Trunk Space
Reasons To Attend: THE show of shows. I’ve been waiting so fucking long for this album. Well, actually, I’ve had it since last Summer, but I mean for it to be a real tangible thing out there in the world. It’s amazing. Also, The Thin Bloods were one of my absolute favorite bands during their heyday and while they’ve morphed somewhat into Nanami Ozone, it’s not enough and one last show from this crew will be stellar. Genre. Jesus, their working on their next release and seem excited as fuck about it. That’s good news for everybody. Andy Warpigs is a prince among men and would be noticeably missing if he wasn’t in this lineup for some reason. Finally, The Darts, sexy, dangerous garage rocking femme fatales who have rocked the world with two back to back records in six months. This will be an event spoken of for years to come.
Other Details: Playboy Manbaby is putting out their first album since 2014 and The Thin Bloods are coming back for one night only!
They will be joined by The Darts – US, Andy Warpigs and Genre.

The record is fantastic and it’s only a stepping stone to a forthcoming full length. Brilliant. Reasons To Attend: I really have no idea what’s going on here, but I like it. There’s useful information in the link to an article below. Mainly I wanted to give a shout out to The Outer Space because it’s the first chance I’ve had to do so.
Other Details: The Outer Space will be hosting a meeting for Operation Noise Toaster, a new monthly synth/noise/jam. If you are interested in being a part of the event please come by to do a brain storm with us to figure out how we’ll be going down with this.

When & Where: Saturday, February 25th, 9pm at Palo Verde Lounge
Reasons To Attend: So apparently Bosswitch can come in from San Diego snatch up the most insane lineup possible, kidnap them and force them to play Palo Verde. That’s going to be a hell of a lot fun. Seriously though, JJCnV, The Woodworks and The Echo Bombs? That should be a tour right there. Fantastic.
Other Details: Bosswitch are coming from San Diego to fill your ears and minds with bombastic greatness!
The Woodworks, JJCnV and the Echo Bombs also plan on knocking your socks off.
The Echo Bombs
When & Where: Sunday, February 26th, 8pm at The Rogue Bar
Reasons To Attend: This show has Carol Pacey & the Honey Shakers who I’ve adored for years now and also Lane Change who have recently come to my attenion. I give this a big thumbs up for Sunday fun based on those two acts alone.

When & Where: Monday, February 27th, 7pm at Valley Bar
Reasons To Attend: Hey, it’s my girlfriend’s birthday and she’s having a show, because wouldn’t you? This is a solid freaking lineup that’s too ridiculously good for a Monday night. Not only do you get Ghost Cat Attack, which you should catch because they’ve got all sorts of new tricks and tunes, but you have Foresteater who just dropped a magnificent single and Jane N’ The Jungle who just released a killer video for my favorite song. I’m pretty psyched about this show, because I get to hear all these magnificent tunes and celebrate my loves birthday. Killer.
