What’s Going Ahhhn…

It’s been a minute since we’ve had a genuine “Night of a Million Shows”,  at least I think it has and this coming Friday is that exact kind of clusterfest. Then Saturday’s got a couple all day festivals and a noise show, so that’s sensible. I know there’s no way of planning these things, but it feels a bit ridiculous with feast or famine scheduling. Sorry for the rant, the good news is there is no bad decision when you choose to spend your time and energy enjoying live local sounds and getting down with the musical community that surrounds you. There is a lot to do!

When & Where: Wednesday, March 26th, 7pm at The Trunk Space
Reasons To Attend: What’s that you say? You want a completely fucking weird Wednesday night? Well, you take whatever you got saved up and then head to The Trunk Space and have your mind reinstalled. It’s painless, and ultimately enlightening. This is the ticket to your own inner freak this evening.
Other Details: Bari sax growls, immersive electronic installation, queer electro-pop, a freaky DJ, and multimedia beat music join forces in a night that could only be produced by the magic that is SXSW season.

Normally crazy-wild-party-time-electro, but as he waits for a new album to come out…..
“TPSSLD is a new show I’m building this winter. It’s a set of mostly brand new TP music performed for an audience that is lying on the ground. The music is performed in hexaphonic sound, with a speaker in each corner and a subwoofer on each side of the audience all operating independently, creating a lush, serene, and for brief moments, punishing, soundscape. The show is a half hour long. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows, foam, thermarests, and big stuffed animals to the show for their comfort. Air mattresses cannot be accommodated for spatial and sonic reasons.”

I just heard the track by The Sink Or Swim on the radio and it’s fantastic. Anyway, this whole event is an awesome concept that should happen more often. Just reading the details on the event below will make you want to go.

I’m hoping they still do. The more I look at the lineup the more I want to be there from beginning to end. This should just a super cool fun event to dig in and enjoy the music and the laid back time. There is no place I’d rather be.

When & Where: Sunday, March 26th, 8pm at The Rogue Bar
Reasons To Attend: The Rogue Bar can either be the best thing or the worst thing on a Sunday night. Like it’s either kind of soul crushing or it’s the best decision you made all weekend. This is going to be the latter experience. I can feel it in my bones. I may be running a little ragged by Sunday, but this would be worth it. Pay no attention to the creepy flyer, this is going to be great.
