What’s Going Ahhhn…

This is another week where folks will be heading out of town for exciting destination like Coachella weekend two, camping up North, or the Miami Loco Festival (see below), but here on the homefront things will be kicking real cool too. There are a bunch of record releases this week, a celebration of some holiday called simply “420″ and Record Store Day on Saturday. If you’re staying in town, it’s gonna’ be a real good time…

When & Where: Wednesday, April 19th, 7pm at The Trunk Space
Reasons To Attend: Andy Warpigs is releasing a new single and he’s inviting some friends to celebrate. I don’t know what they mean by an “album launch” party, if there’s not an album yet or they are releasing an album highlighted by a bitchin’ new single or what, but it’s Andy Warpigs and it’s new music, so fuck everything else.
Other Details: New album launch party and single release! Celebrate one of the weirder bands in our weird lil scene with a night of revelry and geek punx. Joined by…

Last Giant: From Portland, Oregon.

When & Where: Friday, April 21st, 9pm at The Lost Leaf
Reasons To Attend: I’m not aware if The Cherry Bluestorms have any local support for this gig, but they don’t need it. I know this is usually strictly local, but since this crew visited Phoenix a few years ago I’ve been a friend and a fan. They’ve got a groovy psychedelic rock thing going in a very classicist sense. They are currently working on their third album with two masterpieces under their belt already. Have a great time checking out The Cherry Bluestorms, they will be worth your while.
