What’s Going Ahhhn…

It looks like Summer may actually end sometime this week and the weekend is looking like sweater and boots weather for those whose blood has been thinned across a couple years. It’s also going to be a completely crazy week with the Lost Lake Festival happening and I’ll spotlight the local acts making the various stages below. The gigantic festival aside, there are some amazing shows this week all over the place, so let’s get down to it…

When & Where: Tuesday, October 17, 8pm at Valley Bar
Reasons to Attend: Flower Festival are amazing locals and N. Nappa  is from Destruction Unit, so Seattle’s Darto and Calgary’s Fever Feel have some awesome support. I have a feeling this will be pretty much amazing, possibly bordering on a religious experience.
Other DetailsSELECT Presents:
DARTO + FEVER FEEL + FLOWER FESTIVAL + N.NAPPA
$5 Advance // $8 Day Of Show

Darto [STL]: A sound & vocality exploring four-piece out of Seattle. Intriguing and haunting, psychedelic gloaming with twilight voices all over it. Compelling and spine-chilling. Slowly, but determined to find its way into the darkest side of your vulnerable mind. Don’t even try to resist this addictive eccentricity, it’s useless.

Fever Feel [B.C.]: An original rock and roll band that has quickly become one of Canada’s most exciting up-and-coming bands.

Flower Festival [PHX]: Flower Festival blends clear, glossy guitar tones with punky bass lines, and crassly melodic vocal themes to create a mature and well defined indie/pop sound. The high-quality lo-fi coming from this bedroom studio artist makes Flower Festival an up-and-comer to keep an ear out for.

N.Nappa [PHX]: Ambient producer, member of Destruction Unit + Marshstepper.

When & Where: Tuesday, October 17, 9pm at The Lost Leaf
Reasons to Attend: Speaking of religious experience,s your Tuesday options are full of them. John Cash with Joshua Hill (The Hill In Mind) are presenting experimental soundscapes? Followed by House of Stairs who deliver religious experiences with their music at ever show.

And the whole thing hinges around a 9pm set from Scorpion vs. Tarantula, adjust to Tempe time accordingly. This show makes me wish I still drank only slightly.
