When & Where: Friday, November 10th to Sunday, November 12th all over Bisbee
Reasons To Attend: Sidepony Express Music Festival is a three-day showcase of emerging independent musical artists in one of the most quirky, colorful and inspiring places on earth…none other than Bisbee, AZ.

Once a booming copper-mining town, this haunted high-desert destination is nestled in the Mule Mountains of Cochise County about 30 minutes Southeast of the O.K. Corral in Tombstone. Rich with vibrant natural landscapes and majestic Victorian architecture, Bisbee is a feast for the eyes. Whether from all of the minerals in the earth or just the eclectic open-minded populous, the area is magnetic.

In the late 20th century it experienced a renaissance of culture with a large influx of artist residents. Now a haven for left-of-center free-thinkers and an ever-growing art colony, Bisbee is an ideal spot for a festival celebrating underground, original, art-forward music from artists across the genre board.

Genres include (loosely-labeled): indie folk, hip-hop fusion, island jam funk, experimental surf metal, avant-pop dance rock, lo-fi garage jazz, western psychedelic soul, desert noir, and much much more…

The 6th-annual event will be held across multiple venues in Bisbee during the weekend of November 10-12, 2017.

To give you an idea, last year we had 18 unique venues and over 85 bands who each played several times throughout the weekend in different spaces.

This event is open and free to the public.

Phantom Party is a three-piece indie band from Phoenix’s East Valley, and have been working their own brand of “indie-surf” for the past two years. Now they emerge fresh, just 8 months after releasing their debut album, with “A Year in Bed,” their first foray outside of the indie-surf genre and in a sonic direction all their own.

Troubled Minds, lead by Matt Aldawood who produced “A Year in Bed” bring their own brand of anthemic emo with touches of punk rock, mathcore and indie. They’ve been destroying the local scene for years, and show no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Zero Degrees North is a three piece “geek-punk” band with both an EP and a LP under their belt who bring more energy, fun and lust for life than you’ll find anywhere else in the local Phoenix music scene.

Broke Hearts & Body Parts is a pop-punk band from Glendale AZ. With punchy chords, emotionally poignant lyrics and passionate vocals, Broke Hearts is an up and comer you don’t want to miss.

Wonder is a Seattle-based singer-songwriter and live looping artist specializing in storytelling and performance. Live performances fuse acoustic and electronic elements in an homage to her roots in dance music and simple, authentic guitar composition that best serves as a vehicle for a humble message.

Holly Pyle Music
Phoenix native Holly Pyle is buzzing the valley and other Western corners of the US with her latest concoction of disparate music influences. Known as an intuitive vocalist with an “ability to inhabit nearly any style of music,” Holly started out as an opera major at Northern Arizona University, quickly shiftingto complete studies in jazz and psychology. Since diving into a full-time music career in late 2014, Holly has cultivated her own progressive soul-pop sound, releasing two albums and giving over 650 performances, both locally and in neighboring south and northwestern states. In addition to moonlighting with several acts from hip-hop to country to jazz, Holly frequently performs as a solo a-cappella act using electronic looping to sample and recombine her voice into an ever-changing choir of Hollys. Her original psych-soul project House of Stairs plans to release a full-length album this fall.
An undeniably jazz dialogue: Holly Pyle governs the loop station with infinite, yet concisely arranged vocal layers. Her partner Shea Marshall responds with a few instruments out of his musical junk drawer (bass, clarinet, accordion, harmonica, etc. tbd), sometimes vice versa. Each arrangement crafts a wholly live expedition of textures that make a bed for Pyle’s lyrical expressions and Shea’s occasional wordless commentaries.

Rae Lydia
Rae Lydia is an eclectic singer-songwriter, featuring a crisp, clear voice that rises above currents of empathetic writing and various acoustic strummings of guitar and ukulele.
