Future Loves Past – Hold On Tight EP!!!
Posted on October 7, 2014 | 1 CommentSometime last week Eric Palmer told me that the four new songs on the new Future Loves Past EP were mastered and wondered if I was interested in hearing them. That’s not even really a question, I’ve followed these guys since before they were FLP and I’ve even taken a roadtrip to LA to see them in the city where they spend half their time. I was excited to say the very least. So last night I wrote an article eluding to how great the new songs were without giving too much away, as well as detailing their fundraising campaign... -
All The Pretty Things…
Posted on January 30, 2014 | 1 Comment(Author’s Note: About a month or so ago I found out that two of the most talented people I know would be moving to LA, I’ve met this kind of news before with a certain sadness mainly because I loathe LA. In this case it happens to be two of the founding members of one of my top five bands in town, Eric Palmer and Tristan Dede of Future Loves Past. I know this week I’ve been showcasing only videos, do not fear there is a video below, but due to timing and a “sort of” going away show tomorrow... -

Northern Hustle – Forgether
Posted on September 12, 2013 | No CommentsIt seemed that Northern Hustle appeared out of nowhere, one day I had never heard of them, the next everyone seemed to be talking about them, they were playing shows everywhere, they were getting radio airplay in the UK and they crushed their Kickstarter campaign to fund their album in a mere three days! On September 6th Northern Hustle released their debut Forgether for all the world to enjoy. As interesting in construction as it is compelling in sound, Forgether is sure to be found near the top of a lot of end of year lists. The amazing thing is... -
Sister Lip Debut EP
Posted on September 12, 2013 | No CommentsSister Lip refer to themselves as a Jazzy Blues Rock band and across four songs in just under fifteen minutes they live up to that description of musical fusion. It actually comes off as a crazy blend to be unusual enough to stand out. Turns out the band is four girls from Mesa, who purport to like to rock hard and their jazzy blues persuasion is definitely tempered by a fierce interest in indie rock, at times they even tread in to psychedelia as their songs seem to lose control, only to turn on a dime and recollect themselves with... -
Saddles presents Shell Art
Posted on September 11, 2013 | No CommentsI’m not sure I’ve ever found such universal praise in a long time for a local album—I end up in lot of discussions with people in the press and the local music community and a lot of times things can get negative or weird or we just have different opinions (yes, I’m known for liking everything, but maybe re-examine who I haven’t written about). So, when I got an early release of Saddles Shell Art, I gave it a listen and was kind of blown away—now for the last month or so, from other people in the press or within... -
Shows Around Town: The First Half of May
Posted on May 16, 2013 | 2 CommentsAs some of you may or may not know, I became freed of my day job on May 1st–the news of which I greeted with, at worst, ambivalence and at best a fair amount of happiness. Honestly, I’ve been missing out on a lot of killer shows during the week and the opportunity to spend a few weeks checking out what’s happening between Sunday and Friday, kind of thrilled me. This time has not gone wasted, though, I’ve not spent every night at a show–I’ve certainly tried to make the most of it. I would like to say that first...
