  • Well, this is a jam packed weekend kids, no doubt about it. There is so much action going on its unbelievable and I’m not just talking about what will be happening in peoples pants, rather, what will be happening at venues across the valley. The kicker for me is that my beloved Jeepster is in the garage and I will be damn lucky if I surface at all this weekend. Thus I encourage everyone to make the most of this incredible list of shows that I will most probably miss. Although, I must admit when I see a lineup like...

  • The Prowling Kind was one of the best debut acts of 2013, their blistering blend of rock, blues and Americana was some of the finest music I witnessed live on several occasions last year. Sadly, I never got to review their brilliant debut album Tennessee, I never picked up a physical copy and all I had was a soundcloud link that I couldn’t download, I kept meaning to pick it up, but alas never got around to it somehow. I’ll probably correct this soon and write a belated review, because it was one of my favorite albums of last year and...

  • Well, hell it’s been a damned rocky road to get to 2014. I feel like last year I was trucking along full speed and killing it with unbreakable momentum. The fact that I haven’t posted in over a month proves that I hit a roadblock. I apologize for ducking out for an unplanned hiatus. Hey, I’m only one guy–I don’t have a staff and only occasionally do I have other contributors, mostly this is a one man show. A show I intend to get back on the road. The main problem for me began in October when there was a...

  • Every now and then you run into something that just stops you dead in your tracks—sometimes for many reasons, sometimes because you can’t figure it out and sometimes because you just love it plain and true. The first time I saw The Cold Desert, I was literally stopped cold in my tracks—in a jaw dropping, mind blown sort of way. Never have I witnessed a better combination of pure rock’n’roll, deeply rich Americana and for lack of a better term, gospel. By all rights, that combination should turn me off straight away—but it’s too good, it sounds too amazing and...
